Four people, including a baby girl, have died and one person has been injured following a single-vehicle collision on the A38 near Derby late on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to a stretch of road between the A50 Toyota Island and the A516 at around 11pm on 25 July after reports that a red Hyundai carrying five occupants had left the carriageway and collided with trees.
Police confirmed that two women, aged 18 and 30, and a 36-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene. The baby girl was taken to hospital where she later died. All four were passengers in the vehicle.
The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
All those involved are from Leeds in West Yorkshire. Relatives have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
