Five people, including priests, have been rushed to hospital after a stabbing spree inside a historic Benedictine Abbey in Jaroslaw, Poland, on Thursday. The alleged assailant has been detained, and investigations are ongoing at the scene.
Attack with a sharp object
The suspect is believed to have used a "sharp object" in the attack, according to unofficial reports. Local newspaper Gazeta Jarosławska reported: "Attack with a sharp object in Jarosław. Five people injured, including priests. An attack involving a sharp object took place at the Benedictine Abbey. Five injured individuals were taken to the hospital; unofficial reports indicate that several are in serious condition. The perpetrator has been detained. Operations at the scene are ongoing."
Suspect identified and victims' conditions
Authorities have reported that the suspect is a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen who allegedly attacked four men and one woman with a knife. Three men are reportedly in life-threatening conditions.
