Five homes have been completely destroyed and around 20 people were forced to leave their properties after a large fire broke out on a residential street in Newbridge, Caerphilly county, on Wednesday afternoon.
Blaze on Hazelwood Road
Firefighters were called shortly before 4pm to Hazelwood Road in Pantside, where flames caused extensive damage to several homes. Caerphilly councillor Jamie Pritchard said six properties were severely affected, with five reported as completely destroyed.
Dramatic pictures from the aftermath show houses reduced to charred shells, with collapsed roofs, shattered windows and interiors gutted by the flames.
No casualties reported
No casualties have been reported following the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and further updates are expected.
