Five Arrested After Violence in Welsh Village Where Man Died

Police have arrested five men in connection with a disturbance in the Welsh village of Beddau, as they continue to investigate whether the incident is linked to the sudden death of a man in the area. South Wales Police officers responded to a disturbance involving several men on Woodland Road on Thursday, June 25, leading to the arrests.

Man Dies After Medical Episode

Police were also called to an incident at Moorland Crescent in Beddau at 1am on Friday, June 26, where a man was having a medical episode and was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics' efforts. A police spokeswoman said: "South Wales Police was called to an address on Moorland Crescent in Beddau at 1am on the morning of Friday, June 26 to reports of a man having a medical episode. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was declared deceased at the scene, investigations into the cause of the death are on-going."

Details of the Arrests

Regarding the disturbance on Woodland Road, five men have been arrested. A 49-year-old man from Ferndale was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a controlled Class C drug and has since been bailed. A 40-year-old man from Ferndale was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and has also been bailed. A 41-year-old man from Beddau was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody. A 37-year-old man from Beddau was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and has been bailed. A 43-year-old man from Talbot Green was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and affray and remains in police custody.

Ongoing Investigation

The police spokeswoman added: "Officers are still investigating if the offences are linked." The investigation into the cause of the man's death is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine if there is any connection between the two incidents.
