The wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy was shot multiple times at the family home in Ashburn, Virginia, on July 26, 2026. The couple's son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27, has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Charges Filed
Elijah Zion Bieniemy faces charges of Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Discharge of a Firearm Inside of a Dwelling. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
Sheriff's Statement
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said in a statement: "The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a shooting that occurred on the 20000 block of Northpark Drive in Ashburn on July 26, 2026. At approximately 7:32 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting. Deputies located one adult female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries."
"Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27, of Ashburn, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Discharge of a Firearm Inside of a Dwelling. He was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he was held without bond. The investigation is ongoing, and there is not believed to be any threat to the public."
ESPN reported that the victim is Mia Bieniemy, Eric Bieniemy's wife. The sheriff's office has not named the victim but confirmed the relationship.
