Drug kingpin Gary Jamieson was tagged for three months this week after he was caught flouting his super Asbo. The gangster has had a number of run-ins with the law in recent years as he built up a reputation as one of the biggest criminals in Scotland.
Guilty plea over order breach
Jamieson, 40, pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday to breaching the order and was placed on a tag for three months. Officers found Jamieson as a passenger in an Audi on a routine traffic stop in 2024, which went against the conditions of his serious crime prevention order.
He had been given the order after being released from a four year sentence for his role in a £420,000 drugs operation that produced 840,000 street Valium pills dubbed the 'blue plague.'
The Operation Blanc surveillance
Jamieson and John Mack, 38, were snared after a surveillance operation, codenamed Operation Blanc, between February and December 2019. In February 2019 he sent a text message to Kyle Hammond asking if he "would take 30 to Larkhall." The following day Hammond was caught red-handed with 30,000 Etizolam tablets in a carrier bag. A further 40,000 were found in his flat.
That same year Jamieson and Mack drove to an address in Paisley for a deal involving 16,000 tablets. Mack was arrested last September with a bag full of Etizolam. He later accepted responsibility for approximately 500,000 tablets. While he was out on bail, Mack arrived at Jamieson's house in Brock Oval carrying three large boxes and a bag. Officers swooped and found approximately 250,000 Etizolam tablets.
Sentencing and further assault case
Due to Covid-19 restrictions both men appeared via video-link at the High Court in Glasgow for sentencing in 2020. Jamieson was slapped with four years and six months, while Mack, was caged for four years.
The Record revealed last month Jamieson is set to be slapped with another jail sentence for a savage attack which left a man scarred for life. Jamieson and cocaine dealer Steven Caddis set upon their victim at a remote cottage in Inchinnan in January of 2025. Gary, 40, and Caddis, 47, rained punches and kicks on the man's head and body and hit him on the head with a brick, leaving him hurt and scarred for life.
Officers probing the incident were attacked after they went to Jamieson's home in Glasgow's Priesthill area to search the property. It's understood they were looking for clothing he had been wearing and anything else which could have linked him to the crime. Jamieson's dad George and brother Darren attacked officers involved in the operation. George, 61, kicked PC Colin Todd on the body, while Darren, 31, elbowed PC Gary Nelson. The four men have been convicted of assaults at Paisley Sheriff Court and are set to be sentenced this month.
Family links to drug crime
Gary's brother Stephen 'Jimmy' Jamieson was extradited from Dubai and jailed for six years for his role in a multi-million pound drug plot in April. Jamieson, 43, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he admitted being involved in the collection and supply of cocaine, diamorphine (heroin), and Class C drug etizolam over a 54-day period in 2020. He was captured after the Encrochat phone network was cracked and his offending came to light. Jimmy was previously jailed for 12 years and nine months in 2007 for laundering £1million of drugs cash, but was freed in 2013 and moved to the United Arab Emirates.
