A 45-year-old Romanian father, identified only as Gheorghe, died from a heart attack while rushing to the scene of his daughter's car accident. The incident occurred on July 18, 2026, in Galați County, Romania.
Fatal Journey
Gheorghe was driving with his wife along the DN25 road near Șendreni after learning that their daughter had been involved in a minor collision. During the journey, he suddenly suffered a heart attack. His wife watched in terror as he used his remaining strength to pull the car safely to the roadside, preventing a second crash, before losing consciousness.
Failed Rescue Efforts
Passing ambulance crews noticed people assisting at the roadside and stopped to help. Medics performed CPR for approximately 50 minutes but were unable to revive Gheorghe, who already had a stent fitted in his heart. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the fatal medical incident.
Aftermath and Investigation
Traffic was temporarily held up while police managed the scene. Gheorghe's body was transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death. Friends reported that the family is shattered, as the daughter's minor accident pales in comparison to losing her father while he was rushing to help her. The investigation into his unexpected death continues.
