A father in the US committed an unthinkable act of violence by murdering his two young children after making a chilling phone call to his wife.
The man, identified as 32-year-old Veronique John, called his wife moments before the attack, telling her, "You’re going to hear your kids scream." Shortly after, he stabbed their two children—a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl—to death.
A Mother’s Worst Nightmare
The devastated mother, who was not at home at the time, immediately alerted the authorities. Police arrived at the scene in Houston, Texas, where they found the children with fatal stab wounds. Despite efforts to save them, both tragically died at the hospital.
John was arrested at the scene and later charged with capital murder. Investigators revealed that the couple had been experiencing marital issues, but nothing suggested such a horrific outcome.
A Community in Shock
Neighbours described the family as quiet and kept to themselves, making the crime even more shocking. "It’s heartbreaking—no one saw this coming," one resident said.
Domestic violence experts warn that such extreme acts often follow escalating tensions, urging those in distress to seek help before tragedy strikes.
The case has reignited discussions about mental health and domestic abuse, with advocates calling for better support systems to prevent similar tragedies.
