A 31-year-old man was stabbed while cycling in Glasgow city centre during the early hours of Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Emergency services were called to Clyde Place between 12.20am and 12.45am after reports of an assault.
Details of the Attack
The victim was cycling when he was approached by another man on a bicycle. A verbal altercation occurred, and the suspect seriously assaulted the victim with a blade. Ambulance crews attended and took the man to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds before being discharged.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a white male, around 35 years old, 6ft tall, of medium build with a blonde beard. He wore a black jacket with the hood up and a black backpack, and was riding what appeared to be a hire bicycle.
Police Appeal
Detective Constable Gilmour said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the person involved in this incident. I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us. I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam, private CCTV or who may have seen someone matching the description above to get in touch.”
