Chaos as crowds storm estate after child sex abuse allegation

Chaos erupted on a UK housing estate when furious crowds protested in the streets after a 23-year-old was arrested. Furious protestors stormed Gurnos estate in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, on Thursday, August 6, after news emerged that a 23-year-old man had been arrested following an allegation of causing or inciting the sexual exploitation of a child.

Police respond to disturbance

Video shows a number of police vehicles and officers directing individuals of all ages on Poplar Way and Chestnut Way, reports Wales Online.

A spokesperson from South Wales Police said: "Officers attended an address on Chestnut Way on the Gurnos estate at 12:40pm yesterday afternoon following a report of a disturbance.

"Officers attended and whereby a large group had gathered. No arrests were made. Officers remained in attendance for a number of hours and a section 35 is now in place."
