Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace following an assault at a Newcastle city centre nightclub. The attack happened at Pop World in the Bigg Market, leaving a man in his 20s with serious injuries to his jaw.
Assault details
Shortly after midnight on Monday, May 5, police were called to a report of a disturbance at the venue. It was reported that at 11pm on Sunday, May 4, a man intervened in an altercation between two people and was punched twice in the face by a man he did not know.
The victim required hospital treatment for serious injuries to his jaw.
Investigation and appeal
Officers have carried out several enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage. They have now released an image of a man believed to have been in the area at the time, who may have information that could assist the investigation.
