Merseyside Police is looking to speak with two men following a dog attack on a cat on Speakman Way in Prescot on August 12, 2026. The cat was put down after suffering serious injuries in the incident.
Attack on Speakman Way
The incident reportedly took place at around 3.40pm on Wednesday, August 12, when two men were walking a large dog on a lead on Speakman Way. One of the men let the dog off the lead before it attacked the pet cat in a nearby bush. The cat suffered serious injuries and was put down due to the extent of its injuries.
Police appeal and CCTV image
Following enquiries made by Merseyside Police, a CCTV image has been issued from the day of the incident, with the force looking to speak with the two men pictured.
Constable Jess Burrows said: “We will not tolerate such irresponsible dog ownership on our streets. These types of attacks on pets can have a devastating impact on owners and their animals and we take these incidents seriously.
