Fire crews tackle blaze on Gatley Road
Emergency services rushed to a Stockport road after a car burst into flames. Fire crews and police were on Gatley Road, Gatley at around 2:45pm on Tuesday (July 28).
A video of the incident shows huge plumes of smoke emanating from a Fiat Punto that is engulfed in flames. In the clip, sirens blare from the police car stationed just ahead of the burning Punto as a member of the public watches on.
Firefighters from Wythenshawe station attend scene
Firefighters from Wythenshawe station attended the scene where they worked on the blaze for around 45 minutes. There has been no reports of any injuries.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 2:45pm this afternoon (Tuesday 28 July), a fire engine from Wythenshawe station attended a vehicle fire on Gatley Road, Gatley.
“Crews extinguished the fire and worked with Greater Manchester Police colleagues to make the area safe. Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes.”
GMP has been approached for comment.
