A three-year-old British boy has died after falling from the fourth floor of a hotel corridor window while playing with his father on holiday in Cyprus. The incident occurred near Chloraka on Sunday evening, and the boy's 37-year-old father was arrested shortly afterward.

Details of the Incident

According to police, the family had arrived for a summer holiday the day before the tragedy. The fall was reported at around 6:40pm local time on Sunday. Emergency services rushed the child to Paphos General Hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The family also includes a five-year-old girl, who was with them on the holiday.

The boy is believed to have fallen from an open corridor window on the fourth floor of the hotel. The father was arrested on suspicion of causing death by a reckless, negligent, or dangerous act, neglect of duty as the head of a family, and failing in his responsibility as a person having care of another. He appeared in court on Monday morning.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the fall. The hotel management has not yet issued a statement. The British Foreign Office has been informed and is providing consular assistance to the family.
