Boy, 6, Dies in North Wales Crash; Man Arrested

A six-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in Llanfairfechan, North Wales. Police were called shortly after 5pm on Thursday, October 1, following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a child.

Arrest and Investigation

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries. Officers and the ambulance service attended the incident, but despite the best efforts of emergency services, the boy died at the scene.

The child's family are being supported by specially trained officers, according to Wales Online.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Tim Evans, of North Wales Police's serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the young boy's family and friends at this extremely difficult time."

He added: "An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to contact us by calling 101, quoting reference O162122."
