A three-year-old boy who was thrown into a crocodile enclosure at a zoo has been rushed to hospital. A 30-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Incident at Johnsons Zoo

Police were called to Johnsons of Old Hurst at 1:24 PM following reports of an incident involving a three-year-old boy. Officers confirmed that the child ended up in the crocodile enclosure. The zoo, located near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, is a popular family attraction.

The young boy was mauled by a crocodile and subsequently rushed to hospital. He is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Arrest and Investigation

Detective Inspector Verity McCann from Cambridgeshire Police stated: "At this stage, we are speaking to people who were at the zoo at the time of this distressing incident to understand more about the circumstances. We do not believe the man arrested and the child are known to each other. Officers are supporting the boy's family at the hospital, and our thoughts remain with them."

The 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
