A two-year-old boy has been hospitalized with serious injuries after a car crashed into the playground of a nursery in Ellesmere Port on Monday morning.
Incident Details
The incident occurred at Partou Sunny Days Nursery and Pre-school on Vale Road in the Whitby district. Emergency services, including four police cars, an armed response vehicle, a fire engine, two ambulances, and an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene.
Injuries and Response
The two-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been informed. Two other children suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Cheshire Constabulary stated: 'At around 9.54am on Monday 15 June, officers responded to reports of a collision at a nursery school on Vale Road. Officers attended alongside colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service and found that a car had driven through a fence and into the playground area of the nursery.'
Arrest Made
A 63-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The nursery confirmed it would be closed for the day following the incident.
