A 14-year-old boy is in hospital after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Netherton. Merseyside Police were called around 8.10am this morning (Thursday, October 8) to a report that a grey BMW was in a collision with the boy on Copy Lane.

Injuries and response

The boy sustained injuries to his leg and face and has been taken to hospital. The driver who stopped at the scene is helping police with their enquiries.

Road closures in place

Road closures are currently in place on Copy Lane, Dunnings Bridge Road, and Aintree Lane. Police are asking motorists to please avoid the area while they deal with this incident.

Live traffic and travel tracker, INRNIX, states: "Copy Lane in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from A5036 Dunnings Bridge Road to A59 Ormskirk Road."
