An influencer and her boyfriend have been shot dead and left on a rural roadside as the hunt for their killer, or killers, continues.
Ulissias Marcelli Couto Flores Cardial, 30, a fire performer and social media personality known as Miss Tattoo, was found dead with her partner Vinícius Souza de Carvalho, 28.
Investigation details
Police are looking into the possibility that the pair may have been held against their will before they were killed. The former beauty queen, who leaves behind a 13-year-old son, was discovered on Saturday, July 18, a few metres apart from Vinícius on a rural side road in the coastal city of Porto Seguro, Brazil.
Police said the couple had been shot the previous day, with forensic officers recovering seven spent 9mm cartridge cases and two projectiles from the scene. Ulissias' mobile phone was seized for analysis while her partner's device was missing.
Victim's background and tributes
The influencer was known for sharing content about rock music, motorcycling and animal welfare to her more than 20,000 Instagram followers. In 2021, she won a local beauty title. The couple lived locally and worked in the events sector, and Ulissias was due to present at a forthcoming music festival.
Paying tribute to the pair on social media, Ulissias' mother wrote: "Go in peace, my loves. You leave an immortal legacy. We will miss you dearly – this is such a heartbreaking loss." Festival organisers said: "Today, with profound sadness, we bid farewell to her presence among us. It is difficult to believe that someone who was about to share such a special moment with us has left so soon."
No arrests have been made yet as the investigation continues.
