Police and paramedics were called to Spinning Meadow at around 2:25pm on Friday, August 7, following reports of a man with injuries consistent with a knife wound. The area near Bolton Rugby Club was cordoned off as an investigation was launched.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A spokesperson said: "Emergency services are responding to reports of a man with injuries consistent with a knife wound on Spinning Meadow, Bolton, at around 2:25pm today (Friday 7 August). A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
Emergency response
Witnesses reported that an air ambulance landed on the grounds of Bolton Rugby Club. Two rapid response paramedic vehicles and a major box ambulance were present, along with several police vehicles, including a police van and two police cars. Part of the residential area was taped off, with images showing a large emergency services presence.
