A 102-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after allegedly being assaulted at a pub in Cwmbran, South Wales. The incident occurred at The Crow's Nest pub on Saturday August 1 at approximately 10.25pm, prompting an emergency response from Gwent Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Arrest and Investigation
A 56-year-old man from Llanelli has been arrested on suspicion of section 20 assault. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Gwent Police have appealed for witnesses who were in the pub between 10pm and 11pm on the night of the incident. A spokesperson for the force said: "Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following a report of an assault at The Crow's Nest pub in Cwmbran at about 10.25pm on Saturday August 1."

Officers attended the scene along with ambulance crews, and the elderly man was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.
