A newlywed couple from Co Tipperary have tragically died within days of each other, just weeks after celebrating their wedding. Adam Hencek, 23, and Tomas Fueller, 25, passed away at their home in Carrick-on-Suir, leaving the community heartbroken.
Joint Cremation Service Held
The couple, originally from Slovakia, were remembered in a joint cremation service at the Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy, Cork, last week. Adam died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 2, and Tomas followed on Friday, June 5.
Their obituary described them as having an "energy and love of life" that was "infectious." They are survived by Adam's parents, Peter and Lubica, and Tomas' grandparents, Jozefa and Milan.
Fundraising for Funeral Expenses
A GoFundMe page set up by Adam's aunt, Mirka Kohutovičová, has raised over €12,000 to help with funeral costs. Mirka wrote: "We would greatly appreciate any donations to help fund the wake and the cremation of the newlyweds." She later thanked donors, saying: "We reached our goal thanks to all of your help."
Tributes from Friends
Friends have paid tribute to the couple. One said: "You were the brightest light on this earth and I know you'll be the brightest star." Another recalled: "Adam taught me piano briefly, he was a brilliant teacher." A third added: "Their energy and love of life was infectious."
The community in Tipperary and Slovakia continues to mourn the loss of the young couple.
