Greater Manchester Police has launched a major investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Lillia Lloyd Walton from Bolton, with officers continuing their search today (Thursday, September 17). The teenager was last seen boarding the 247 bus at the Trafford Centre at 1.50pm on Saturday (September 12).
Lillia's mum, Jessica, appeared alongside chief superintendent Helen Critchley in an emotional video appeal. Unable to speak through her distress, CS Critchley delivered a heartfelt message to Lillia on Jessica's behalf.
Emotional plea from her mother
The Bolton district commander said: "Lill I love you so, so much. My heart is breaking without you here. I need to know you are safe, we all need you back home safe and well."
Earlier this week, her mum issued a heartfelt plea for Lillia to "come home". Jessica said: "Lillia, you're not in any trouble, I'm really, really worried. It's been four nights now and you need to be safe. Please come home, we all love you very much."
Police investigation and sightings
She was reported missing on Friday, September 11. She was seen at Piccadilly Gardens bus station just before 11pm that night. The bus Lillia boarded at the Trafford Centre was headed towards Altrincham, police said, and it is unclear how long she was on the bus for or where she got off.
During her speech to Lillia and the public, CS Helen Critchley said: "The last confirmed sighting of Lillia was at 1.50pm on Saturday afternoon, 12 September. We believe she boarded a 247 bus at the Trafford centre in the direction of Altrincham."
Description and appeal for information
Lillia is 5ft5, of a slim build and with brown hair and glasses. She was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded top, light blue baggy jeans and a black Nike backpack.
Greater Manchester Police has set up a Major Incident Public Portal as detectives again pleaded for information. Anyone with information on Lillia's whereabouts is asked to contact police via the portal.
