A major search operation has been launched off the coast of Carmarthenshire following reports of two people in distress at Cefn Sidan beach. Emergency services, including Dyfed-Powys Police and the coastguard, are involved in the multi-agency search.
Search Underway Since Monday Night
Police received a call at approximately 9:50 PM on Monday, June 8, reporting two individuals dressed in dark clothing waving a torch near the water's edge. It remains unclear whether the two have encountered difficulty or harm at the location.
A police spokesperson stated: "Dyfed-Powys Police is working with the coastguard following reports of two individuals, possibly in distress, near the coastline at Cefn Sidan beach at Pembrey, Burry Port. A multi-agency search is underway, but they have not yet been located."
Appeal for Information
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who was at Cefn Sidan beach on Monday evening to come forward. The public can contact Dyfed-Powys Police via usual channels, quoting reference DP-20260608-423.
As of 7:05 AM today, the two individuals remain missing. The search continues with multiple agencies working together to locate them.
