A major search operation has been launched off the coast of Carmarthenshire following reports of two people in distress at Cefn Sidan beach. Emergency services, including Dyfed-Powys Police and the coastguard, are involved in the multi-agency search.

Search Underway Since Monday Night

Police received a call at approximately 9:50 PM on Monday, June 8, reporting two individuals dressed in dark clothing waving a torch near the water's edge. It remains unclear whether the two have encountered difficulty or harm at the location.

A police spokesperson stated: "Dyfed-Powys Police is working with the coastguard following reports of two individuals, possibly in distress, near the coastline at Cefn Sidan beach at Pembrey, Burry Port. A multi-agency search is underway, but they have not yet been located."
