Emergency services were called to Churchyard Row on May 27 following reports of people falling from a great height. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, woman, and child with severe trauma. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by paramedics and police, all three were pronounced dead at the scene.
The family has been identified as Aditi and Rakesh, both believed to have been born in India in 1979, and their son Sid, who was born in the UK. Sid was reportedly terminally ill with severe medical conditions.

Local MP Neil Coyle, representing Bermondsey and Old Southwark, expressed his shock and sorrow. In a letter to building residents, he stated that the police believe the deaths were a suicide and are not seeking anyone else.
