A four-year-old boy has tragically died after being pulled unconscious from a swimming pool in Australia, despite desperate attempts by his family and paramedics to save his life.
Emergency Response at Bobs Farm
The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, 9 January 2026, at a property in Bobs Farm, located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. Family members discovered the boy unresponsive in the pool and immediately pulled him from the water.
They began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for emergency services to arrive. Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at approximately 7:30pm.
Desperate Fight to Save a Life
Upon arrival, paramedics from NSW Ambulance took over the life-saving efforts from the family. The boy received extensive treatment at the scene in a bid to stabilise him.
He was then rushed in a critical condition to John Hunter Hospital. Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the young boy could not be saved and he passed away in hospital.
Police Investigation and Coroner's Report
A spokesperson for New South Wales Police confirmed the devastating outcome. Officers from the Port Stephens/Hunter Police District have attended and have commenced inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report is now being prepared for the coroner, which is standard procedure following such an unexpected death.
This heartbreaking pool tragedy follows another recent incident in Australia where an eight-year-old boy died after being found in a swimming pool near Shepparton in November.
