Tributes to 19-year-old after fatal two-car crash

Tributes have been paid to a 19-year-old woman who died in a two-vehicle crash in Suffolk earlier this month.

Amelia Miller, of Stowmarket, was one of two teenagers killed in the collision on Debenham Road, Little Stonham, on Sunday, October 18.

Collision details

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.15am following reports of a crash involving a red Peugeot 107 and a silver Volkswagen Passat.

Suffolk Police, ambulance crews, fire crews and an air ambulance attended. Two teenagers travelling in the Peugeot were declared dead at the scene, while those in the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries.

Family tribute

In a joint statement shared by Suffolk Constabulary, her family, Chris, Jo and Issac, said: “Amelia was a daughter, sister, aunty and cousin.

“Amelia lost her life in a road traffic collision on the 18th October, she was only 19 and was so full of life and energy, a truly special person.

“She was a keen dancer before becoming a photographer. She loved heavy metal and rock music, as well as the occasional farming song.

“She loved the freedom of having a car, but her passion was motorcycles and she used to go for rides on her 125 looking for photo opportunities, which would normally include bikes or animals, often being goats.

“Amelia left an impression with everyone she met. She struggled with the school environment but left with fantastic grades. She really blossomed around adults in the workplace environment with her sharp mind and wit.”

Witness appeal

The force is continuing to appeal for witnesses and is asking motorists driving in the area before the incident who may have dash cam footage to come forward.

They are asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 37/61603/26.
