Long delays hit the Spine Road in Northumberland on Monday morning after a three-vehicle crash on the southbound A189 near the Moor Farm roundabout.
Collision near Cramlington
The crash happened just before 7am between the B1326/Northumbria Way in East Cramlington and the Moor Farm roundabout. Northumbria Police were called to the scene at 6.50am.
Traffic southbound was partially blocked and slow, with queues stretching from Moor Farm roundabout, past Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, and up towards Eastfield. The adjacent B1505 also saw disruption.
Emergency response and casualties
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) was contacted at 6.50am and sent one ambulance to the scene. Two people were treated at the scene and discharged, not requiring hospital treatment.
Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes while vehicle recovery was carried out.
