Two teenage girls have died after being hit by a van in Whittington, Staffordshire, police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Lichfield Road, near the junction with Marsh Lane, at approximately 22:25 BST on Monday.
The pedestrians were struck by a white Vauxhall Vivaro. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, but later died. Staffordshire Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
The force stated that both families have requested their privacy be respected during this difficult time. The investigation into the crash continues.
