The devastated family of a promising 17-year-old boy have spoken of their unimaginable grief after he was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on the M62 motorway.
Robert Settle, described as a "bright and loving" young man with his whole life ahead of him, was struck by multiple vehicles near junction 26 in West Yorkshire during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Despite the efforts of emergency services who rushed to the scene, the teenager was pronounced dead at approximately 2:15am.
A Life Cut Tragically Short
In an emotional tribute, Robert's heartbroken family remembered him as "the most amazing son, brother, grandson and friend" who brought joy to everyone who knew him. The talented teenager, who had recently begun an apprenticeship, was known for his passion for mechanics and his kind-hearted nature.
"He had his whole life ahead of him and was just starting out on his career path," the family statement continued. "We are utterly broken and cannot comprehend life without him."
