Mum pays tribute to son, 15, killed in Bradford crash

Tributes have been paid to a 15-year-old boy who died after a crash between an off-road electric motorbike and an Audi in Bradford.

Harley Hartley was riding the bike on October 1 when he was involved in a collision with a black Audi S3 on School Street in Bierley. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died on October 28 after a four-week battle.

Mother's tribute

His mother paid tribute, saying she has been left numb by the tragedy. She said: "I always longed for a boy and after three girls I finally got him, my life felt complete. Chunky 9lb 2oz blue eyed boy. He would do anything for anyone all you had to do was ask."

"Now I'm left numb, broken-hearted, every emotion you could ever feel. My son, the light of my life, you knew exactly how to play me to get anything and everything you wanted. You will forever be my number one, I got you son always, love Mum."

Police appeal

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to the scene at around 5.30pm on October 1. The force's major collision enquiry team is investigating and continuing to appeal for witnesses.

In a statement, officers urged anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the movements of either vehicle prior to it, to contact them. Anyone with footage which may assist the investigation is also asked to make contact.
