A motorcyclist has died following a collision on the A40 near the Welsh border. The incident occurred last night (Thursday, August 11) at approximately 10.09pm, when West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a single motorcycle road traffic collision in Monmouth.
The road was closed westbound between the A4137 near Whitchurch in Herefordshire and the B4164 near Monmouth. Emergency services, including a local community first responder, a paramedic officer, an ambulance, two critical care paramedics, and the Wales Air Ambulance from Cardiff, attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that upon arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition. Police officers were already administering CPR. Despite emergency treatment, the man could not be saved and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
