Drivers are facing long delays on a stretch of the M62 as emergency services respond to a crash. Emergency crews are at the scene on the eastbound side of the carriageway this morning (October 29), with two lanes shut off.
Two lanes closed between junctions 18 and 19
The lanes are shut from junction 18 for Simister Island to junction 19 for Heywood. Long queues are building up to the incident.
National Highways said: "Lanes 3 & 4 (of 4) are closed on the #M62 between J18 (#SimisterIsland) and J19 (#Middleton) because of a traffic collision. Emergency services are in attendance and recovery is en route."
Delays of up to 30 minutes reported
There are delays of up to 30 minutes on the approach to the scene. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys while the incident is dealt with.
