Drivers are facing delays on the M61 southbound between junctions 2 and 1 after a multi-vehicle crash. Two lanes have been closed, according to National Highways.

Emergency services are at the scene, with a recovery team en route. Long queues are building, and drivers currently face delays of around 30 minutes.
In a post on X, National Highways said: "2 lanes (of 4) are closed on the #M61 southbound between J2 and J1 due to a multi vehicle collision. Emergency services on scene."
