Emergency services have closed the M11 southbound at Junction 14 (Girton Interchange) in Cambridgeshire following a serious multi-vehicle crash. Cambridgeshire Police, Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue, and National Highways traffic officers are all at the scene.
Road closed and diversions in place
National Highways East issued an update on X, stating: "#M11 southbound within J14 (#GirtonInterchange). Road closed due to a multi vehicle RTC. Emergency services on scene. No access to M11 from the eastbound A14. Vehicles are exiting via A1307 and joining A14 eastbound Delays of up to 15 mins on the approach."
The carriageway is closed southbound, and drivers have been warned of traffic delays on approach to the crash.
Impact on drivers
Traffic has been stopped on the affected section of the M11, and no access is available to the motorway from the eastbound A14. Vehicles are being diverted via the A1307, joining the A14 eastbound, with delays of up to 15 minutes reported on the approach.
