Alexander de Paula, the husband of Heineken brewing fortune heiress Charlene de Carvalho, has been handed a six-month driving ban after a high-speed escapade in his powerful sports car was caught on camera.
The 39-year-old was behind the wheel of his black Audi R8 Spyder, a vehicle capable of reaching 60mph in under 3.5 seconds, when he was clocked travelling at a staggering 100 miles per hour on the A40 in London. The offence took place on the afternoon of March 8th this year.
Facing the Magistrate
De Paula pleaded guilty to the charge of speeding by post. The case was heard at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court, where the sheer velocity of his driving led to the mandatory disqualification.
In addition to the ban, he was ordered to pay a £750 fine, along with £110 in costs and a £75 victim surcharge, bringing his total financial penalty to £935.
