A 21-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a horrific car crash in Halifax that killed three of his friends. Spencer Elliott-Delaney suffered catastrophic injuries in the collision on Wednesday, March 18, which claimed the lives of Corey Graham, 22, Cassius Bryant, 22, and Thomas Reilly, 21.
The four men were travelling in a Ford Fiesta when it was involved in a collision with a BMW and a stationary Renault Clio in Illingworth. West Yorkshire Police have arrested a 26-year-old man from Bradford on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
A JustGiving campaign has been set up to support Spencer and his family, raising over £7,000 of an £11,000 target. Organiser Andrew Raby said Spencer has undergone life-saving treatment and surgery, and faces a long and uncertain recovery. Any surplus funds will be donated to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The deaths have devastated the local community, with friends and family paying tribute to the three young men described as the closest of friends. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
