A devastating car crash in Bolton has claimed the lives of four people and left five others injured, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.

The fatal collision occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 11 January 2026, on Wigan Road in Bolton. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a serious incident involving two vehicles.

The vehicles involved were a red Seat Leon and a Citroen C4 Picasso. The force of the impact resulted in catastrophic consequences for those inside.

Fatalities and Injuries Confirmed

Tragically, four individuals lost their lives at the scene. The deceased include the driver and two passengers from the Seat Leon, as well as the driver of the Citroen C4 Picasso.

In addition to the fatalities, five other passengers sustained injuries in the collision. All were taken to hospital for treatment, with the extent of their conditions currently unknown.
