Family's Tribute to Woman Killed in Christmas Eve Crash

The family of Saskia Weatherley, a 29-year-old woman who died in a car crash on Christmas Eve, have paid tribute to her as 'amazing, kind and beautiful'. Saskia was killed when her Volkswagen T-Roc overturned on the M2 near Gillingham, Kent, after hitting the central reservation while returning from last-minute Christmas shopping at Bluewater shopping centre.

The crash occurred at around 12.50pm on December 24 2025. Her mother, Julie Weatherley, described the loss as 'unbearable', saying: 'Losing Saskia has torn a hole in my world, and it doesn't make sense, life feels unbearable without her.' Her father, Richard, expressed regret, saying: 'If I'd just given her a hug for five more seconds.'

Saskia had a diploma in fashion design from Ravensbourne University and was working on a range of men's accessories made from carbon fibre. At the time of her death, she was building a stable at the family home in Newnham, near Faversham. Her brother Max said he spent 'every day of my life' with his sister and that the pair never argued.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash. It is understood that Saskia's vehicle did not strike any other cars before hitting the barrier, but her family say they are awaiting full details and want to know if any other drivers were indirectly involved.
