Ed Sheeran has been granted permission to serve alcohol at his Notting Hill pub, Bertie Blossoms, but under strict conditions. The singer is prohibited from holding drinking games or offering free alcohol at the venue, as outlined by the Kensington and Chelsea borough council.
The council's licensing conditions specify that no irresponsible promotions are allowed, including activities where drinks must be consumed within a set time or poured directly into someone's mouth. Alcohol can only be served to seated guests.
Sheeran recently spoke about his weight loss journey on the podcast Behind The Medal, admitting he used to overeat and drink heavily. He said, 'My problem was I’d go to the pub, have bangers and mash, a pie, maybe a pudding and then loads of pints. And then not exercise.'
The singer, who now weighs 12 stone, has taken up running and cycling to improve his health. He also addressed negative comments about his weight, attributing them to others' insecurities.
