A 46-year-old man has died after his grey Audi A4 collided with a white Scania HGV on the A9 south of Dunkeld.
Emergency services called
Emergency crews were sent to the collision at around 6am on Friday, July 31. The Audi driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Road closed for investigations
The road was closed to allow inquiries to be carried out and for the vehicles to be recovered. It reopened about 6.30pm.
Police appeal
Sergeant David Farr said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time. Our enquiries remain ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to get in contact with officers.”
“I’d also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
