A young couple, celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary just days earlier, and their unborn child have died following a horrific road collision in County Antrim.
A Tragic Sequence of Events
Nak Ralph Singco and Cathrene Kith Quinones Singco were involved in a serious two-car crash on the Moira Road in Crumlin on Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred at around 2pm between a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb.
Ms Singco, a Filipino healthcare worker, was rushed to hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Her unborn baby also did not survive. This evening, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that Mr Singco had also died in hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
A number of other people involved in the incident sustained minor injuries, police said.
Heartbreaking Anniversary Tribute
In a cruel twist of fate, hours before the fatal crash, Ms Singco had shared a poignant memory on social media. She reposted a one-year-old video from her last wedding anniversary, which she and her husband celebrated on January 10, 2025.
The clip showed the happy couple dancing in the snow at an altitude of 3,454 metres during a trip to the Jungfraujoch railway station in Switzerland, known as the 'Top of Europe'. The original post was captioned: 'cheers to 5 years of love as husband and wife'.
Community Mourning and Police Appeal
Tributes have poured in for the soon-to-be mother, described by one friend as a college classmate. One online tribute read: 'It breaks my heart... May you rest in peace Kith.' Another said: 'Rest in eternal peace to my batchmate and classmate and to their little baby... gone too soon!'
The PSNI's Collision Investigation Unit is now conducting a thorough probe into the circumstances of the crash. A spokesperson issued a direct appeal to the public: 'We are investigating what happened and require the public's assistance with our inquiries.'
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage of the Moira Road around 2pm on Sunday, to contact them. The reference number for the investigation is 735 of 11/01/26.
