Car Veers Off Road, Crushes Two Teens Outside Takeaway in Ipswich

Confronting CCTV footage has captured the terrifying moment a car lost control and veered off the road, slamming directly into two teenage boys who were sitting on a footpath outside a busy takeaway. The dramatic incident occurred on Friday afternoon outside Carmen's Seafood and Takeaway in Ipswich, located southwest of Brisbane.

Emergency Response and Rescue Operation

Firefighters were urgently called to the scene to free the trapped pair, who were pinned against a wall by the vehicle. Using a winch, emergency crews managed to extricate the two teens, aged 13 and 14, from the wreckage. They were then rushed to the Queensland Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Eyewitness Accounts and Bystander Reactions

A takeaway worker described the chaotic moments following the crash to Nine News. "We were just here and I heard a loud bang and some screaming," the worker said. "Then we came out and saw a car right in front of the shop. They just came home from school I think, they were just getting a feed. Hoping they're okay."

Shocked bystanders immediately rushed to aid the injured boys. The driver and passengers of the Ford Falcon, which displayed green P-plates, also raced out of the vehicle to try and help. Remarkably, nobody inside the car sustained any physical injuries.

Current Condition of the Victims

The two teenagers remain in hospital following the traumatic event. The 14-year-old boy is currently in a critical but stable condition, while the 13-year-old is reported to be in a stable condition. Both were allegedly crushed by the car at approximately 4pm on Friday as they waited for their post-school snacks at tables outside the takeaway.

Police Investigation Underway

Officers have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information or additional footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers immediately to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
