Police have arrested a man after a car overturned on a residential street in West Lothian. The incident occurred on Cochrane Street in Bathgate, where footage shared on social media shows the vehicle resting on its side in the middle of the road.

The crash took place just before midnight on June 6. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after. The car's hazard lights were flashing, and airbags had deployed. A man was seen exiting the vehicle, accompanied by two girls standing nearby. Two other individuals rushed over from a nearby house.

Police response

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 11.50pm on Saturday, 6 June, 2026, we were called to a crash on Cochrane Street, Bathgate. A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences. Enquiries are ongoing.”
