A tragic bus accident in central Bangladesh has resulted in the deaths of at least 24 individuals, including women and children, after the vehicle plunged into the Padma river. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Rajbari district, approximately 84 kilometres from the capital city of Dhaka.

The bus was carrying around 40 passengers who were returning to work following the Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Fitr. As the bus attempted to board a ferry, it veered off and fell into the river, leading to immediate chaos and a frantic rescue effort.
