Police called to campsite
Witnesses called police at around 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1, after a three-year-old boy was hit by a van at Red House Farm campsite in Earnley, near Chichester.
The boy was taken to hospital for treatment and is being treated for serious injuries. An air ambulance was reported at the scene at around 9pm, according to the Mail.
Investigation under way
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a collision at a campsite in Bookers Lane, Earnley, Chichester, at around 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1."
"A three-year-old boy was injured after he was involved in a collision with a van and he was taken to hospital for treatment."
"No arrests were made and police are investigating the circumstances."
About the campsite
Red House Farm is a family-run campsite three miles from West Wittering Beach. The small site has ten pitches for caravans and motorhomes, 20 tent spots and four "luxury glamping pods".
