The collision happened at approximately 7.30pm on Saturday at the family-run site on Bookers Lane, with witnesses reporting an air ambulance at the campsite around 9pm.
The boy was airlifted to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment for serious injuries. Sussex Police confirmed no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a collision at a campsite in Bookers Lane, Earnley, Chichester, at around 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1. A three-year-old boy was injured after he was involved in a collision with a van and he was taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests were made and police are investigating the circumstances."
