The A1(M) is closed in both directions in County Durham after a lorry overturned, with emergency services at the scene. The collision was first reported just before 6am, with 999 crews attending shortly after.
Diversions in place
A diversion is in operation for traffic between Junction 60 and Junction 61, via the A688 Tursdale Road in Bowburn. Drivers are being warned of significant delays and advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
