Smirking Killers Who Tortured and Murdered Mother-of-Two Caught on Camera

Two men convicted of the murder of a 28-year-old mother-of-two have been captured on video smirking as they brandished a gun, a chainsaw, and showed off a cannabis farm. The footage, released by Northumbria Police, shows William McFall, 51, and Stephen Unwin, 40, bragging about their weapons and drugs after the killing of Quyen Ngoc Nguyen.

McFall, who previously served time for murdering a pensioner, is seen in one clip pulling faces while holding a handgun. In another, he and Unwin laugh as they display a cannabis farm. A still image shows McFall grinning with a gun and a large chainsaw. The pair met in prison while serving sentences for earlier murders.

Miss Nguyen, who weighed just 7 stone, was lured to Unwin's home in Shiney Row, Tyne and Wear, last August. She was raped by Unwin, forced to hand over her PINs, and subjected to a four-hour ordeal before her body was dumped in a burning car. The killers ate a curry as she lay dying.

After the murder, McFall took a selfie while travelling to a post office to withdraw cash from the victim's account. The image shows him in a passenger seat with Unwin in the background. The pair were found guilty of murder after a trial at Newcastle Crown Court; Unwin was also convicted of rape.

Miss Nguyen's sister wept in the public gallery as the verdicts were read. The victim worked at her sister's nail bar and helped Vietnamese people find accommodation, unaware that Unwin was a life prisoner out on licence for murder. Both men had previously killed pensioners in separate incidents.
