Axel Rudakubana, the Southport killer sentenced to at least 52 years for murdering three girls, is reportedly enjoying prison perks including Maltesers and McCoy's crisps delivered to his cell, despite recently attacking a guard with boiling water at Belmarsh Prison.
Sources inside the prison described the situation as 'shocking and disgusting', noting that the 18-year-old is still allowed to spend £5.50 a week on canteen items, which are often delivered by colleagues of the injured officer. The guard was hospitalised after the attack earlier this month but has since returned to work.
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick condemned the privileges, stating: 'I cannot believe this monster has been allowed to keep these privileges. It’s a disgrace. He should be stripped of them immediately.' Rudakubana can also call family, receive religious visits, and have money sent by relatives.
While his TV has been removed and time out of cell limited, he can still buy toiletries, vitamins, drinks, and biscuits. The Prison Service declined to comment on individual cases.
